DROFU is Making a Statement with his New Collection "DRESSED TO KILL"

July 11, 2018 | By Valerie Ekpo

Nnamdi Nwoha – Drofu, a Nigerian artist, born and based in the city of Lagos recently released an art project which he titles Dressed to kill.

Dressed to kill is a series of digital paintings that play on the idea that Nigerians are fashion killers, culturally speaking.

The images feature Nigerians in various cultural attires, holding some sort of ammunition. Dressed to kill – literally.

The idea behind the collection is very interesting and we love the use of art to tell the Nigerian story.

When he is not battling the agents of chaos on the streets of Lagos, Drofu tries to figure out the best way to make art that is relevant to the urban culture and demographic that is Nigeria.

His style of art can be defined as urban surrealism and is crafted with the intent to resonate with a wide Nigerian and African audience.
